Six Weeks Into It…
By miranda | September 6, 2008
…It being the wonderful experiment that is raising Sophie. She’s been quite the little social butterfly, playing host to poeple from all ends of this country of ours. First to arrive was her Grandmere Rachel from Ottawa. She stayed with us for a lazy week spent trying to beat the heat in Edmonton, enjoying lots of quality Sophie-time. Our next visitor, Uncle Simon, came from the west coast to meet his new niece and get some time in at the Fringe. During Simon’s visit we also got to see Djeda Michael again and had an early birthday supper for Simon with the whole family (minus Jenny, cause she couldn’t make it this trip). Then Auntie Jessica came south again for a second visit, this time bringing Jim along (another new face for our girl).
And now we’re just trying to settle into a routine of our own. September is here, bringing cooler weather and harvest time for garden things, some of which did very well. We’re thinking of gearing ourselves up to make our own wine this year using the grapes from our own vines (supplimented by some we’ll have to order in, since the vines only produced a handful, this being their first year). Our cherry tree produced a bowlful of fruit, which I will make a fabulous desert out of some time this week.
Finally, for those of you hungry for more pictures, we have updated and reorganized the Gallery, so go check it out.

I just looked at the pictures from August, so awesome! Apparently my parents make good resting places.
Is there a way to get back to the blog from the gallery? I couldn’t figure it out.

Yes, Sophie enjoyed sleeping in their arms. And no, I don’t think there is a way back to the blog. Hmm, strange, I’ll look into it.
