Fall Urges
By miranda | October 9, 2008
Most people spring clean, but I seem to really be getting the urge to purge this fall. Everywhere I look there are so many things I would like to see get done. True, it’s always been that way, but maybe it’s harder to take because there is a little one to look after so I have less time to do these things even though I am now home all the time, thus, I get to see all the things that need doing so much more. Whew, run-on sentence. Oh well, just keep chipping away at it all, I guess. I think that is one of the biggest adjustments I’m having to make due to staying at home with Sophie. Before, I didn’t have time to get to these things cause I worked 10-12 hours a day, seven days a week. Now I have the well-being of a little angel to keep me occupied at all hours.
As to that little girl, she is doing fine. We have had her sleeping in the small crib in our room for the past week, and it’s going really well. She’ll usually wake up sometime between 4 and 6, and then we move her to the bed, but one morning, she slept right until 8am! Yay! She’s quite the smiler in the daytime, amused by pretty hanging things or by parents’ faces. She’s also dicovered that she likes sucking on her hands and often tries to get the whole fist in there.  We discovered an amazing parenting aid when we set up the swing that we’d been given. She naps very comfortably in it, and is even pretty happy in it while awake. It’s magic! We took her for her first immunizations this month, which went pretty well. Harry held her and I shed just a couple of tears. No adverse reactions after the fact, happy to say.
As for visits, Nana and Grandad are coming to Edmonton this weekend for Thanksgiving, which will be nice. Next month Harry and Sophie and I will be flying down to the Vancouver area to get in some quality visits to all the family we have around there.
And life goes on…
