Isn’t it funny…

It’s so funny the way our brain filters the information it takes in and only lets our conscious brain notice the stuff that seems relevant. Kind of like when we were looking at buying a new vehicle, and all of a sudden I’m seeing Santa Fes everywhere. Not too long ago I heard that the word “meh” is now in the OED, presumably stemming from a Simpsons reference. I am not a Simpsons watcher, but ever since hearing this little bit of news, I have realized how much this word figures in my own vocabulary. It is disturbing to me that I use a word like this so often, being as it is used to indicate boredom and a complete lack of interest in or care for an idea. What does this say about me?

Yes, that is an interesting concept.
